Samuel Beckett: The End
Gare St Lazare Players, Ireland
Sorry this event has been and gone.
NZ PREMIERE.
Heartbreaking and hilarious, The End is the story of a
man expelled from the institution that has been caring for him, to
fend for himself in the world. Leaving no detail of his existence
unexamined, the protagonist endears himself to the audience as with
dignity, humanity and humour, he faces his impending
death.
Acclaimed interpreters of Samuel Beckett's plays, novels and
short stories, Conor Lovett performs and Judy Hegarty Lovett
directs The End.
Hailed for their fresh and accessible interpretations, Conor
Lovett and Judy Hegarty Lovett have collaborated on over 17 Beckett
titles, touring to more than 22 countries with their precise and
elegant work.
Gare St Lazare Players will also be performing Beckett's First Love as part
of the 2011 Festival programme.
