White Night Artworks
For White Night on 12 March, Artworks Community Theatre hosts
One Island, Two Books play reading (A NZ
Book Month activity) from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Enjoy readings of
Crumpy and Two Fish and a Scoop, both by Carl
Nixon from Christchurch (each excerpt will run for approximately 30
minutes with an interval between events).
Waiheke Community Cinema brings White Night Films @ Waiheke
Community Cinema. Visit www.WICC.co.nz for details of
what's showing.
Waiheke Community Art Gallery shows Island Currents and
offers workshops for creating LinoCuts and roll-on tattoos, from
6pm - late. The art gallery and shop are open, and artist
Cerisse Palalagi instructs visitors on how to create their own
linocuts before printing them onto paper. Visitors can adorn
themselves with roll-on tattoos.
Waiheke Community Library hosts an open night from 6:00pm -
late. The library is open late into the evening supporting the NZ
Book Month play-reading at the Theatre.
At Whittakers Music Museum cellist Lisa Cheung and friends
perform a classical music concert on a variety of instruments
including cello with musicians from Auckland University. 5pm -
6.30pm. Children should be accompanied by an adult. The museum is
open 6.30-9pm. Visitors can view, hear and in some cases have
a go at a range of historical musical instruments. Adults $20.
Concessions are available. Museum entry by koha. Book tickets
at 372 9627.
The Upcycle Studios @ Artworks is gallery and shop is open
late
Ajadz Indian Restaurant is open til late.
