White Night: Tivoli - Books - Art - Film

EXHIBITION OPENING at 5pm, all welcome.

From fairies to witches to bogeymen, this is an exhibit of prints by major international artists published by the UK- based collective The House of Fairy Tales. They are a surprising, diverse,  intriguing, and unsettling series of images inspired by fairy tales. The House of Fairy Tales is a flexible and expanding group of creative practitioners of all kinds that presents performances, moving image, workshops and a myriad of other fairy tale-inspired activities and events for children of all ages.

These specially-commissioned prints in a limited edition of 60 are in many gallery and museum collections and were exhibited at Tate Britain in September 2010. Artists include: Paula Rego, Peter Blake, Fiona Banner, Francis Upritchard, Cornelia Parker, Dexter Dalwood.

Waiheke portrait and landscape artist Barry C. Hollands will be working in Pendragon Courtyard outside Tivoli from 5pm to 8pm.  Barry is well-known for his unique community portraits.  He will be painting gallery and other visitors' portraits during the evening.
